Our Londonversary

Eight years ago today, Tom and I moved from New York to London. We walked to our last diner lunch in a driving snowstorm, watched our 1-bedroom on the Upper West Side packed into a shipping container, and then headed for the airport. Where our flight was delayed by about 9 hours...

This picture was taken on that first jetlagged day, when we didn't know what we didn't know about life in England. We had a lot of suitcases, but no baggage: no kids, no cat, no permanent address. Oh, the possibilities!

Also that Barbour jacket I was wearing? Was new. How embarrassing.

Now we have been here almost as long as we were in New York. We have made friends, made a family, made a home and a life in this country, and I'm so looking forward to what's next.
